연제 : Disease Specific Protein Signaling Network Analysis by Mass Spectrometry

Abstract

 Protein phosphorylation is a well-known posttranslational modification involved in many important biological processes including cellular signal transduction. More than one third of proteins in biological systems are expected to be phosphorylated. Cellular protein phosphorylation events are tightly regulated by specific kinases and phosphatases. Abnormal or aberrant protein phosphorylation events have been implicated in various diseases. 
 Recent developments in quantitative proteomics including phosphopeptide/phosphoprotein enrichment methods and mass spectrometry have revealed many protein phosphorylation events involved in the developments of various types of diseases. These protein phosphorylation events could be the causes or the outcomes under specific disease conditions.
In this presentation, we will demonstrate how our newly developed proteomics approach can be used to screen crucial protein phosphorylation events in the development and progression of various diseases.
