연제 : Strategies for Small Molecule Hit Identification

Abstract
Hit identification is one of the most critical steps in drug discovery campaign. While phenotypic- and target-based screening methods are most widely used, recent advances in covalent inhibitors offer a fresh perspective in screening platform called “inverse drug discovery” approach. Practical application of the inverse drug discovery approach with 3-bromo-4,5-dihydroisoxazole (BDHI), a latent electrophile derived from the natural product Acivicin, will be discussed. Second part of the talk will cover hit finding strategies for Ubiquitin-Specific Protease 18 (USP18), a deubiquitinating enzyme (DUB), using Small Molecule Microarray (SMM) platform and high-throughput virtual screening.
